The 2017 FACEOFF to Fight Cervical Cancer

In News by Steve Conforti

For a 2nd year, the FACEOFF to Fight Cervical Cancer provided the Caledon community with an exciting and fun night of double-header hockey action, while raising money and awareness for TEALPOWER.

Once again, it was GIRLS vs GUYS as the CWHL‘s Brampton Thunder looked to avenge their loss from the previous year against the Sunday Night Hockey League All Starsfollowed by the SNHL Callaghan Cup Championship.

This year the 400+ fans got what they wanted, as the GIRLS came back, after trailing 4-0, to beat the GUYS 5-4 in a shootout. The star of the game was our very own event co-organizer, Rebecca Vint, who scored the shootout winner for the Thunder. In the second game, the St. Louis Bar & Grill Wings defeated the Ken’s Lawn Mower Repair Blades 4-2 to capture the 2017 Callaghan Cup.

Total Raised in Support of Tealpower
$0

On behalf of our entire FACEOFF Team, we are excited to announce that the 2017 FACEOFF to Fight Cervical Cancer charity hockey game raised $9000 for TEALPOWER’s Ride to Conquer Cancer. The donation will be made in memory of our friend, Ange Chester.  We are so proud of the success of our 2nd event, but could not have done it without the support from our community! Thank you to our event partners, sponsors, volunteers, Brampton Thunder, SNHL, and of course, all 400+ fans and players who came out to watch.
